Committees
Membership Committee
- To actively recruit Chamber Members
- To ensure that all businesses in the communities of the Welland and Pelham are aware of the benefits of Membership in the Chamber.
- Actively liaise with the Member Services Committee.
Education Committee
- To act as a liaison between businesses and the school boards, colleges, and universities
- To provide direct input to educational or training facilities when such is deemed appropriate or necessary so that the communities of Welland and Pelham have skilled and well trained labour force.
Communications Committee
- To direct the publications of the Chamber newsletter, directory, and any other communications between the Chamber and its members
- To establish and provide for monthly and annual awards for the business communities of Welland and Pelham.
- To provide for any other communication or public relation device that furthers a positive image of the business community and the Chamber of Commerce.
- To advise members of Chamber activities.
Member Services Committee
- To survey and monitor Chamber Membership in order to regularly review Chamber services and make recommendations of program activities to the Board which may be delegated.
- Actively liaise with all Chamber Committees.
Policy Committee
- To review specific issues, problems or concerns that are brought to the Board of Directors attention from the business community.
- To revise or establish Chamber policy on specific matters, issues or concerns
- To ensure that the Chamber effectively lobbies government or any other organization, to allow for pro-business legislation, by-laws or regulations.
Special Events Committee
- To initiate programs and events that not only benefit our Members, but also ensure a strong financial position for the Chamber
- To ensure the success of the special events by coordinating, with the Chamber staff, the planning, organizing and operating of the events.
